Ok ok i know it's been a long time. I promise I will start keeping up better with this. It's been a couple months over a year since I last posted. We recently got married and pictures will be up as soon as I get them :] I'm also working on opening up my craft blog and etsy shop. Much love.

Y-U-M MEEEE

Sooo... let me just start off by saying that I LOVE rainy days!! I think it's because there's only a few of them a year here in good 'ol AZ, and every time it does rain here it always smells so good outside :] thank you creosote!

Anyways, I was sitting at work staring out my window (wishing I could be anywhere else) and I started thinking about chili. Yup, chili. I WANT SOME! It seriously sounded so good. So I went to Fresh n' Easy and just looked for anything that would taste good in chili and decided to put it all together :] It turned out ahhmazing. By no means am i a cook haha maybe that's why I'm so proud of myself, but try it out and tell me what you think! I named it Rainy Day Chili, you know you just love the name huh? lol Oh and IDK how to write a dang recipe so just deal with it mmmkay ha ha.

Rainy Day Chili

two pounds ground turkey (or ground beef whatev)
1 small jalepeno-diced
1 small can of diced green chilies
2 cans red kidney beans
1 can stewed tomatoes - diced and add the sauce too!!
2 cups cooked brown rice
2 tbsp garlic salt (or to taste whatever works. i like, ok love, garlic salt)
red chili powder to taste
1/4 cup water

Brown the meat in a skillet and drain out the fat. Add all ingredients into pan and bring to a boil. I like my chili kinda spicy, so i added a sprinkle of chili powder over the top and mixed it. The jalepeno does add a little kick though. I lalso ike my chili a little on the thicker side, so after looking at the mixture you can decide if you want to add more water-but keep in mind that the tomatoes will give off moisture too. After the mixture boils, cover and simmer for an hour. DONE! Easy Peeezy lemon squeezey! :]

I'm thinking the longer it simmers the better it will be. Tristan got home from work about 45 minutes after I started simmering and he had to eat it right away. He has zero patience, especially when things smell good :] So next time I think I'll try it in the crock pot and keep it on low while I'm at work.

Sorry my hog of a fiance ate it all before i could take a picture! Oh by the way it should serve 4 normal people, but this batch only served me and Tristan cuz he's a garbage disposal who is going to eat us out of our house :P Well I hope you enjoy!!

Well, hello there 2010! When did you sneak up?!

Seriously! Where did the time go?! This year honestly flew by. I don't know if we were just too busy with the plethora (yup! i said plethora!) of things that fill our every day life or if the whole world just decided to skip a few months and not tell me about it (I'd like to believe the second one). I don't think it hit me that a whole year just passed by until I went to work and had to write the date on my white board. So I decided to do a list of our highlight moments for 2009 (borrowed from shelbs)Enjoy!! :]

.:.March.:.

We got the keys to our first house! We love living together-it's a learning experience all on it's own, but that's for another post. It's been fun decorating and making things our own. My fingers hurt when I just mention painting, but it's a good hurt. Right? This picture is from after we got the house painted in November. It was white with an ugly blue trim before.

.:.April.:.

April is our anniversary month. April 16th to be exact. This was a highlight month for me because after about 2 weeks of living together Tristan finally learned that I was NOT his mother :] He started pitching in around the house and doing chores so I wasn't so flippin' grumpy all the time. Don't get me wrong, I love cleaning and cooking and doing laundry and all the other stuff a woman is known for doing around the house. BUT for now, while we're both working full time, he can pitch in. And he learned pretty darn fast :] Ahhh the sweet smell of victory.. Gotta love it!

.:.July.:.

I only mention July because it was our first "summer prices" bill from SRP. Does it really cost $185 to cool a 1350 square foot house?! I call b.s.! Curse you Arizona heat!

.:.September.:.

Our birthday's are in September. Mine is the 9th and Tristan's is the 12th. This year was my 21st birthday and lets just say I celebrated my brains out. That is, until I puked my brains out :]

.:.December.:.

December was a pretty big month for us! Tristan and I went to his parents house for Christmas Eve and had fun with all the kids looking at Christmas lights in the back of his dads truck. We also hosted Christmas Day for my side of the family. I was actually much more relaxed then I thought I would be. For whatever reason, both of us spaced about stores being closed on Christmas Day and we forgot to go grocery shopping Christmas Eve, so we kind of had to improvise. It still turned out good :] And of course he asked me to marry him towards the end of December, which was probably my biggest personal highlight of the past 5 years haha

Over all 2009 was very good to us! I know there was a lot of other fun times and things to be grateful for, but that would have taken oh-so-very-long to write down. So here it goes.. ADIOS 2009! HOWDY 2010! Please be as good to us as the year before :]

Drum roll please...

So after 5 years and 8 months Tristan finally popped the question!! WE'RE ENGAGED!! He asked me to marry him while we were up at the cabin that we go to every year after Christmas. We went to the Tonto Natural Bridge National Park that is just past Payson, Az. The drive down to the bridge is soo pretty that i pulled over and made Tristan take a picture :]

After paying $4 each to get into the park, we started the 1/2 mile hike down to the bridge. Towards the beginning of the hike you're sort of walking over the bridge, and there's a natural hole that they caged over and you can look down through the top to see the creek that runs below the bridge.

The view from the bottom of the bridge was b-e-a-utiful!!

There was a rock at the bottom of the bridge that Tristan thought was the coolest thing ever.

After we took some pictures I got cold so Tristan opened his jacket and let me cuddle with him. His heart was beating really fast but I didn't really think anything of it. He started talking about how our cabin and the bridge was a special place for us, and as soon as the coast was clear he got down on one knee! I muttered something along the lines of "Are you serious? What are you doing? Oh my gosh!" as soon as he started getting down on his knee, then i started getting teary eyed so the rest is kind of like a blurry dream. Tristan told me that he loved me with all his heart and he always will, that i was his best friend, (at this point I started all out crying-Tristan calls it "cutie crying") and that he knew he wanted to be with me forever. Then he pulled the ring of his pinkie finger-where he was hiding it! sneaky sneaky- and asked me if I would marry him while sliding the ring on my finger. I said "yes", which came out as "yeeeeeeeez" because I was all sniffly, and he picked me up in the biggest hug ever!! YAY!!!!

Tristan did an amazing job picking out my ring!! Its perfect and I can't see myself wearing anything else. Good job baybay!!

It's only been a few days, but it still feels like a dream. We both still giggle when we call each other "fiancee" and I'm constantly staring at my ring and thinking about all the wonderful possibilities our future has. I can't wait to be Tristan's wife :] I'm the happiest girl in the world!!

First Post!

It's our first Christmas in our first house together and we're broke as a joke. "Broke but in love" as Tristan likes to say :] Do the Christmas decorating is coming along pretty slowly, aka pay check to pay check. We have our Christmas lights up and they're pretty darn cute!

I found a little door hanger at the dollar store and it says "Peace, Love, and Noel" with a little snowman. I'm telling ya the dollar store is where its at baby!

Anyways, there's our first post ;]
